Surveying Flat Roofs | An Introduction

Subscribe for regular updates.

Flat roofing is a surprisingly technical subject and there are hundreds of different factors to consider when surveying flat roofs, which can have a bearing on what solution is best suited to your commercial building.

To complicate the picture further, there are also numerous different flat roofing systems and any number of different manufacturers and distributors, and all of them will try and persuade you that their product is the best!

Unfortunately, there is no  ‘one size fits all’ solution, or even one single manufacturer which has a solution for every situation. Every roof is different and each requires a bespoke solution.

In this series of articles, to be published weekly, we will be running through many of the factors that need to be considered when specifying a new flat roof system.

Please be aware that this is not a complete list. Books and technical guides, codes of practice, British and European Standards have been written on each element. Our aim is to open your eyes and give you a basic understanding of what’s involved, what you should be looking out for and some of the solutions.

The collection of articles will be available as a single point of reference at the end of the series.
