Project Overview
Maguire Brothers were appointed to deliver a full roofing refurbishment at Wellington Court, a large residential block in Eastbourne. The works included the complete strip and renewal of pitched and mansard roof areas, an upgrade of insulation to improve energy efficiency, and the overlay of flat roofs with a durable built-up roofing (BUR) felt system.
The Challenge
With the block fully occupied, the project demanded careful planning and coordination to minimise disruption to residents. Maintaining a safe environment was essential, while ensuring the property remained weather-tight throughout the strip and renewal phases.
The Solution
Our team implemented a phased programme of works, keeping the building secure and watertight at every stage. Temporary protection was installed during roof stripping to shield residents and interiors from the elements. We worked closely with the client and residents to coordinate access and maintain clear communication, helping minimise inconvenience.
Enhanced insulation was integrated into the roof build-up, improving the building’s thermal performance and supporting long-term energy savings. High-quality pitched roof coverings were carefully installed, while flat roof areas were overlaid with a robust BUR felt system, chosen for its durability and proven waterproofing performance.
The Outcome
The project successfully renewed all pitched, mansard, and flat roof areas, enhanced insulation across the block, and delivered a durable, energy-efficient, and visually improved roofing system – all with minimal disruption to residents.
