St Thomas Aquinas Church: Pitched Roofing

Contract Value: £205,000

A pitched roofing project for a church in Richmond

A wonderful project that was particularly popular with the local seagull population. The teams on site not only needed to navigate and ensure the normal health & safety procedures were implemented, but also adjust their practices to take into account regular dive bombing attacks.

As always great importance was put on working closely with the church to not only ensure a seamless, safe and secure project. But also to ensure the functions of the church could continue as normal whilst the refurbishment works were undertaken above.

The works involved the removal of existing coverings and installation of clay plain tiles on several elevations. The existing condition of the timber structures required the refurbishment and renewal of numerous elements. The nature of the building meant that significant leadwork throughout was required, including works to the spire, soakers, flashings and a number of additional coverings.

In addition to the roofing works, the project involved the replacement of rainwater goods and external refurbishment works.
