St Thomas à Becket Church – Pagham
Contract Value: £200,000
A church roofing and refurbishment project on a listed church building in Pagham.
We were called to investigate a leaking roof that was endangering parishioners of this beautiful Church in Pagham.
As a listed building, it was imperative that both the roofing and external refurbishment works carried out ensured the building was renovated to its original appearance. All whilst ensuring materials were locally sourced and work was carried out to the highest of standards.
Green Oak was used for timber repairs, handmade tiles for the roofing and stone sourced from Salisbury to match the original French Limestone. Due to the severe coastal weather, thick lead was installed for perimeter weathering details and internally the Choir Vestry was repaired with traditional lime plaster and decorated using clay paint.
The work was completed over one of the wettest winters on record, without any problems or leaks.
