Project Overview

St. Albans Church had sadly stood empty for eight years prior to restoration. When we were tasked with the renewal of the roof coverings, the specification included introducing lamb’s wool insulation quilt, photovoltaic slates and Welsh slates.

Code 6, 7 and 8 lead were used to replace flashings and to reline the flat roofs. We employed a blacksmith to replace the crosses which had rusted and as a result had split the stonework.

The stone copings and features were replaced with hand-carved Bath Stone, and large areas of the external brickwork were repointed with lime mortar.

The rainwater goods were replaced with new powder coated aluminium, and new lightening conductors were also installed.
