PROJECT OVERVIEW
We were approached by Merton Council to carry out this school roofing project in Mitcham, South London. The school caters for pupils with diverse learning needs, so working closely with all stakeholders, school staff and the council was critical.
As always, various processes and procedures were implemented to ensure works remained isolated from staff and pupils and health and safety was always our first priority.
This flat roofing project involved the removal of both hundreds of PV cells and the existing saturated waterproofing, on an area over 2,000m². This was followed by the installation of a built-up, high-performance felt system, which incorporated a tapered insulation scheme.
Following the completion of the waterproofing, hundreds of solar panels were installed, enabling this school to generate sustainable electricity for many years to come.
The size of the project meant that works would have to run into term times, however our health and safety procedures ensured as always, no incidents occurred.
We completed this school roofing project on time and within budget.
