Avis Way, East Sussex: Commercial Sheeting

Maguire Brothers were pleased to undertake this commercial sheeting project for an industrial unit in Newhaven, East Sussex. Our client, a busy furniture manufacturer, was keen to take advantage of the available roof space and mitigate energy price increases by installing a solar array on their building.

Due to its fragility and unsuitability for hosting solar panels, the existing asbestos roof was removed and replaced by new insulated composite Plastisol coated panels. Internally, steel sleeves were manufactured, wrapping around the existing concrete purlins with sheets fixed into these. All associated lead work and flashings were replaced.

On completion of the roofing works, we installed a solar system which was designed to generate maximum output, enabling not only the client to cover their energy consumption, but over a short period of time, cover the costs of the entire refurbishment project.

The project was undertaken over the winter period to ensure the client was up and ready with their new solar array heading into spring.
