We have worked with most consultants and manufacturers over the last forty years and one view that seems to have remained constant is that it is much easier to specify a roofing project, than it is to undertake one.

Studying the roof build up and condition are also important factors and to help do this we prefer to take core samples, rather than relying on hearsay and building records.

Roofs are a favourite location for plant, including air handling units, PV and solar arrays and mobile phone masts, which clutter the roof surface, sometimes presenting a challenge akin to re-carpeting a restaurant without moving the tables and chairs.

When it comes to roofing materials and systems, the options are endless. However, client budgets certainly aren’t, and to avoid the cost of a project skyrocketing once started, it is critical that thorough investigation and planning is undertaken right at the very beginning.
