Lead, Copper, Zinc, Aluminium and Stainless
Steel.
Sheet
metal roofing is an ancient craft employed by many civilisations since
antiquity, including the Romans, who used both lead and copper as roofing
materials. Soft and hard metals are indisputably some of the greatest
building materials ever used to cover the roofs of cathedrals, churches,
public buildings, offices and houses. We are continuing this tradition
with countless applications throughout the UK, including Windsor Castle
and the Royal Navy Dockyards in Portsmouth.
Other hard metals have been introduced more recently, including stainless
steel and aluminium. These materials now offer greater diversity in
appearance and performance for metal roofing.
