French
Embassy
The
French Embassy in London awarded leading
South East roofing contractor, Maguire Brothers,
the contract for re-roofing and external
refurbishment to its Consulate building in
Kensington.
The contract, which was 12 weeks long and
worth £70,000, commenced in early October
2003. The re-roofing work was carried out
using Welsh slates, which are in keeping
with the architecturally beautiful and historical
building. The external refurbishment involved
various masonry repairs, overhauling the
building's windows and external decorations.
Traditional materials were used throughout.
Maguire Brothers' partner, Francis Maguire,
was delighted with the contract. 'It was
a prestigious project for a high profile
client. I have been to France many times
and love the country but I am extremely pleased
that all our discussions were in English'.
Since it began trading nearly 25 years ago,
Maguire Brothers has gained extensive expertise
working on occupied premises and listed buildings.
The company continues to win many prestigious
projects on similar properties including
Ealing Town Hall, Tooting Library, the University
of Surrey and many tower blocks for local
authorities and London borough councils.
