Leading South East roofing contractor, Maguire Brothers, was honoured at the recent National Home Improvement Council Awards 2003 luncheon. As a finalist in the Excellence in Roofing category, sponsored by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors, Maguire Brothers was awarded a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievement. The luncheon and awards ceremony was held in the Gladstone Library in Whitehall and was hosted by Lord Ezra MBE. The guest of honour was Nigel Griffiths MP, Minister for Construction at the DTI.

Maguire Brothers celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2004. In that time the company has grown from a small family business to a well-respected and award-winning contractor. The company won a NFRC Health and Safety Award in 2002 and continues to win many prestigious contracts.

Francis and Rory Maguire, who received the Excellence in Roofing award from Nigel Griffiths MP agreed, “We are delighted to receive this award. It is a testament to our hard work and diligence over the last 25 years that we have been recognised and rewarded by the construction industry”.

After a gruelling assessment and a lot of hard work we have finally achieved two more Health and Safety accolades. Firstly we achieved a Gold Health & Safety Award from the National Federation of Roofing Contractors. The Award, which covers our work in 2003, was awarded to us this Summer. Needless to say we are delighted that our hard work in Health & Safety has been recognised and rewarded.

The second achievement is our compliance with the Contractors Health & Safety (CHAS) Assessment Scheme. This rigorous and detailed examination of our Health & Safety procedures has been carried out over the last few weeks and we are delighted that, yet again, our hard work and diligence has paid off!

National Federation of Roofing Contractors’ Safety in Roofing Award

In April 2003 Maguire Brothers was honoured with the Bronze Award in the National Federation of Roofing Contractors 2002 Safety Awards. The Award recognises our continued efforts to maintain and improve our Health and Safety standards. In a letter of congratulation from Mike Long, Chairman of the Joint NFRC/FRA Health and Safety Committee, Maguire Brothers was congratulated for ‘helping to answer the call to revitalise Health and Safety in the industry and help reduce accidents and health hazards’.
